I totally loved this place and kept coming back. The location is perfect - it’s up on a hill with a great view, 10 min walk to the Acacia Mall, the area with restaurants, coffee shops. The hostel is very clean, the rooms are spacious, the common areas are amazing! Everything is just so comfortable, the staff are super welcoming. I loved the breakfast served every morning - they actually cook everything there in the hostel, even the samosas were home made! And what I miss the most about this place? Gustavo and Simba! 🐾♥️

Came in the night thought I would remember how to get to the town better, got lost but retrieved. ☺️ Very good accomodations loved underground huts, very nice. Next time we come in bulk, Would love to have the dome. Had my best 2days, and you made me felt at home.🏡❤️

It's a cool place and some of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. We write this review based on one of the staff member's behaviour, we don't know if it's just him who has anger issues or his attitude reflects the whole place. We booked a Deluxe King Room. We were allowed to check in at 12:00, and we were told that our room is not in the hostel but in the annex. We asked to first check the room before paying. The room was not too clean (there was some tomato sauce in the floor and the bed sheet looked quite worn down), we didn't see the toilet because it was locked, but the annex was seemingly the accomodation of the staff (we met someone in a towel who was at the reception in the morning). We didn't say anything negative yet because the main building of the hostel is cool, we could just hang out there during the day and sleep in the annex. We got however frustrated when it was about paying. Paying by card is an extra 3.5% which we can understand, however paying with cash would mean an extra 10.000 for 2 nights which is about 7% extra than what we saw as a price on booking.com. The answer was that they have a special exchange rate that we should accept (we stayed in 7 different places in Uganda before where they all used the standard exchange rate). This was the point when we told the staff member that we don't think it's fair to pay more for a room that is not even in the hostel (and not so clean), and we are thinking not to stay here if we can't pay what booking.com shows. He got crazy angry and shouting at us that he gave our room to someone else already (in 2 mins???) and we should cancel our booking immediately. We asked him whether we can we cancel for free, but he said "it will depend on our manners." We told him that he is the one who wants to kick us out from the accomodation so at least he should promise it would not cost us extra money to cancel. He started to shout that we need to cancel the (used the f word) booking. I tried to cancel, but didn't manage (because I was under shock), so I asked him to help how to do it, but he said he won't help me, he was just screaming and swearing continiously at us. It was quite scary and we had a very tyring day so I started to cry, but he just got even angrier because of that. Honestly we never met a this rude person in 9 months traveling in 30 African countries. We are super surprised how someone working in hospitality could act like this (only because we found their exchange rate not fair, we don't think we did anything worse other than saying we consider not staying here). I dont want to write the receptionists' name in public, but happy to send it to the management, hopefully they will do some measurments so that this kind of behaviour won't happen again.

I spent the past two weeks at Acacia Villa, and the only downside is that I didn’t have more time to stay, The place is lovely, the staff are incredibly friendly, a special shoutout to John:). Highly recommend

They have amazing customer service. Really kind and helpful staff. The place is pretty chilled and you know when night comes you will surely sleep. With a silent hours rule from 10pm till 8am rest is guaranteed. Their breakfast, amazing complements to the chef.
