Been in Uganda for 10 years now, and this is the best place for a cut & styling... they even do expat hair (straight hair, I mean).  Their service-levels are extraordinary and all their staff are very professional and friendly.

We asked for price for a specific hair (twists) on their whats app. They told us it's 250k. They booked us an appointment at 12:00pm, but when we came there they weren't prepared at all, they had no braids, we had to wait for over 4 hours just for them getting the braids! At the end we were at the saloon for 7 hours. Yes SEVEN HOURS. What's the use of the appointment even! Crazy. At the end they billed us even a different amount of 300k, they said it was for braids. So again, what is the point of asking for the price and making an appointment if everything is not as it's suppose to be or promised.We went back the following day to put out the hair they did. They didn't even bother to ask why or anything. They were just giving us this weird looks and they talking behind our backs. The worst experience ever. The saloon is overrated by far. Worst customer service. They keep offering this plastic glass of water every time, for that price you should get a proper local meal. Price vs. Service = not worth it.

These guys are professional, customer care is good ,  the ambiance is just on point l.

While the studio is neat and professional, I have had inconsistent quality of service (I still think this is one of the better studios in Kampala).

The first time I went it was fantastic! I had a shampoo/conditioning and box braids. I was finished in less than 5 hours, and the price was clear.

Unfortunately, the second time was not as good. At the beginning of the appointment, I was told the cost was 180k. When I went to pay, it was 285k. During the appointment, I had to repeatedly tell the stylists what I thought was common knowledge for working with natural hair---detangle with a wide tooth comb, begin from the ends, work toward the roots, and be gentle around the edges/hairline. I had asked for french curls and many of the extensions were glued with my natural hair. Moreover, the braids themselves were twisted without a uniform shape.

After conversation with the owner (in which they profusely apologized), they agreed to redo my hair at no additional cost (which I greatly appreciated). The third time, it was much more pleasant and the braids were much higher quality (i.e., evenly distributed across the scalp and had a uniform shape). I still had to consistently remind stylists to detangle when the hair was damp, use a wide comb, add a moisturizer, start at the ends. I also had to repeatedly tell the braider to use less gel (which he did not do consistently) and add a bit of a moisturizer (he did not do consistently either).

Here are three ways I think the studio could improve:
1. Transparent pricing--give an accurate estimate before the services begin

2. Braiders/stylists could learn techniques to treat/work with long, natural (4c) hair (e.g., gentle detangling with damp hair, using a wide tooth comb, adding moisturizer, minimizing the use of gel)

3. Honoring client requests *consistently*. After I express a preference (e.g., add moisturizer to a section), I shouldn't have to constantly remind the braider/stylist of the preference.

First time I went there, it was okay, I liked the service and professionalism, but the second time I was disappointed because I made an appointment and also shared the picture of hairstyle I wanted on WhatsApp,but when I went there on the day of the appointment, they had not prepared my Locs and just apologized so I ended up leaving, I decided to give them a chance and booked again, when I got there, I wasn’t in the system and they told me to sit down, I waited for 30 minutes and no one was attending to me, I decided to move out and they didn’t even call me back to check,I don’t know if this happens to others as well or it’s just me, The services are very poor when Zziwa himself is not around, never going back there!!!!

Im not so sure about my first experience . Will be going back in about 2weeks and update. As a person with 4c natural hair, finding a saloon that can handle painlessly is a priority. Let's see how that goes next time in sha Allah. For the price it was ok

Had a nice haircut here, I turned out so well.
Ladies are also Well taken care of with a very spacious place to do make up, hair styling and plaiting plus pedicure & manicure.
There's also a special section for kids' hair needs

They have a weekly special for manicures and pedicures. Very relaxing environment. The staff communicate and listen to your needs well, they are keep the place immaculately too!

I went to lifecare hair saloon for a treatment and was advised to do the L’Oréal  vitamino color treatment since my hair was dry, it was the best treatment I’ve ever gotten! It was very relaxing, moisturizing, the feeling was so good and different! I’m definitely going to be frequenting lifecare saloon.

I went here for a hair, beard and nails cut. Service was great and the work done was great. I cannot state how much I felt looked after. But..... The value was well over priced. I paid 140,000 shillings when in other places I had the same work done for only 50,000 shillings. Knowing how Kampala works, I can only assume I paid a 'whites' price as we are always over charged.

Service was okay. But how I wanted my eyebrows isn't how I left. I have two very different looking eyebrows and neither is how I wanted. I showed several pictures of what I wanted and didn't want. Now I wait about 2 months for them to grow out s d try elsewhere. They open promptly at 9am

Ravi cut my eye brow when doing my hair. When confronted, I was blamed for moving away. Literally was moving away because he was cutting my eye brow.

I received the worst today. The guy was cutting as if its free service, i had to again go to another salon for proper hair cut. It may happen to another person, hope you work that out. Everyone should be treated with equality to others. I Just regretted going there today. It was just like giving my money for free.

Great place for kids, took my daughter here many times already, for braids, they do a great job and very understanding and listening to clients needs. Prices are fair considering the time and quality.

The receptionist is sweet and jolly, ably directed me to the address and came out to receive. Immy surely knows her job, how she manages the queue keeping the clients updated on the services is admirable, very resourceful indeed. Stella and Rachel opened my very unfriendly small twists with patience and even when Stella was called away after a short while, Rachel worked meticulously with such gentleness I didn't feel any pain. Whenever she worked through a tough knot and seemed to pull the hair, she would apologize but I never experienced any pain. All staff are generally polite, I never learnt the other last 3 of my handlers but they were all great. However to undo my hair it must either be Rachel especially Rachel or Stella. Hair by clipperz is indeed a hair destination, guys are good at what they do.

For my sister's kukyala, you did a great job from plaiting, styling, makeup, not forgetting the customer care was incredible. Thank you to the entire team especially Maurice and the makeup artist! We shall definitely hire you for all our forthcoming functions.

It's a Nice place to sleep and relax with cool rooms and they have customer care

I love that I was attended to immediately because they have enough staff. The salon is so spacious, no congestion. The inside cornrows were painless. Generally they are so gentle in handling hair. Some anti itch oil was applied to my scalp and I haven't had any itching since my hair was plaited. It was generally a great experience and I will most definitely always have my hair done Hair By Clipperz.
